Support Akani - Prayer
Prayer is the most essential part of this ministry. Without prayer partners we cannot make a difference to the lives of these children. We believe that all the blessings received so far were as a result of the prayers lifted up to our Lord, which He then answered with love and affection as only our God can do.
The prayer of St. Francis of Assisi, written in the 13th century is very relevant to Akani. For the things mentioned in this prayer is what we ask God to do in the lives of our children, staff and this ministry. May this prayer inspire you to get involved in the Akani ministry. Your prayers are the greatest gift you can ever give our children. May God bless you all.
"O Lord, make me an instrument of Thy Peace!
(A community of Diepsloot without peace)
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
(Hatred in the township)
Where there is injury, pardon;
(Injury due to violence)
Where there is discord, harmony;
(discord because of a lack of knowledge)
Where there is doubt, faith;
(Doubt in the faithfulness of our loving Father)
Where there is despair, hope;
(Sadness due to abuse, Aids, death, poverty)
Where there is darkness, light, and
(Darkness due to poverty, hopelessness etc)
Where there is sorrow, joy.
(Sorrow due to circumstances out of control,
But my God has the answer and I can help Him to make a difference.)
Oh Divine Master, grant that I may not
so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand; to be loved
as to love; for it is in giving that we receive;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life."
